Courtney B. Vance’s Captivating Role: Emmy Award-winning actor leads an ensemble cast in the audacious bank heist story

August 29, 2023 – In a riveting dive into the world of high-stakes crime, SHOWTIME is set to debut “HEIST 88”, starring the two-time Emmy Award-winning actor Courtney B. Vance. This film, inspired by one of the most audacious bank heists in American history, is produced by an ensemble of studios: MTV Entertainment Studios, Bassett Vance Productions, and Gunpowder & Sky.

Vance, who previously captivated audiences in “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story” and “Lovecraft Country”, now plays Jeremy Horne, a criminal genius with a rare gift of persuasion. Horne is on the brink of incarceration but opts for one final audacious move: he assembles a team of four young bank employees to pilfer nearly $80 million, making a bold statement against the U.S. banking system. The narrative unfolds in an era prior to the dominance of cyber technology, creating an atmosphere rife with tension and suspense.

The cast reunites Vance with Keesha Sharp, who previously portrayed Dale Cochran in “The People vs. O.J. Simpson”. Bentley Green, recently seen with Vance in “61st Street”, also joins the roster alongside stars like Keith David from “The Nice Things”, Xavier Clyde of “City on Fire”, Nican Robinson from “Beef”, and Precious Way of “Days of our Lives”. This cinematic venture finds its foundation in the script of Dwayne Johnson-Cochran and the directorial prowess of Menhaj Huda.
