Steffin McCarter and Will Williams, both seasoned competitors in the World Championships, entered the final round holding the top two spots. McCarter led with a jump of 8.23m/27-0w, while USATF indoor champion Williams trailed closely behind at 8.18m/26-10. In a valiant effort to surpass McCarter’s leading distance, he matched it on his final attempt. In the men’s 200m, Elijah Morrow seized an early advantage, storming ahead of the field with an impressive lead around the turn. With his relentless determination, he fended off the fierce challenge posed by Olympic champion Andre De Grasse of Canada, triumphantly crossing the finish line in 20.11w (+4.7). Remarkably, De Grasse and Kendal Williams both recorded times of 20.28w, with De Grasse securing second place by a mere .006-second margin.

The men’s 110m hurdles offered a nail-biting spectacle, as Jamal Britt, defying the precarious push from a +4.0 mps wind, etched his name into the annals of history. Britt became the 24th man ever to break the elusive 13-second barrier, conquering the hurdles in a phenomenal 12.99w. The podium witnessed a remarkable U.S. sweep, with Eric Edwards capturing second place in 13.07w, while Freddie Crittenden, the reigning USATF indoor 60m hurdles champion, secured third place with a commendable time of 13.13w.

Will Claye demonstrated his mastery in the men’s triple jump, delivering three exceptional jumps that secured his victory. Claye’s second-round leap of 17.45m/57-3w proved insurmountable for his competitors. Donald Scott, the USATF champion, and Jamaican talent Jordan Scott both recorded impressive distances of 17.06m/55-11.75. However, it was Donald Scott’s superior secondary mark that secured him the second-place finish. Christian Taylor, a two-time Olympic champion making a triumphant return from an Achilles injury, showcased his resilience, securing fourth place with a commendable jump of 16.82m/55-2.25w.

The men’s 400m witnessed a masterclass performance from Olympic champion Steven Gardiner of the Bahamas. Gardiner demonstrated his unrivaled skill and sheer dominance, storming to victory in a phenomenal time of 44.42. Trevor Stewart emerged as the top American in the event, displaying his remarkable abilities to secure the third spot with a commendable time of 45.58.
