Mexico City Welcomes NBA’s Best in 32nd International Game

In a joint announcement made today by the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Zignia, it has been confirmed that the NBA Mexico City Game 2023 will witness the Atlanta Hawks and the Orlando Magic in a regular-season game. This international basketball event will take place at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City on Thursday, Nov. 9. With this forthcoming event, Mexico will be hosting its 32nd NBA game since 1992, an achievement that sets it apart as the country with the highest number of games hosted outside the U.S. and Canada.

The Orlando Magic, set to play its fourth game in Mexico since 2012, will showcase a roster of strong talent including 2022’s No. 1 overall pick and 2022-23 Kia NBA Rookie of the Year, Paolo Banchero. Other notable players include 2021-22 Kia NBA All-Rookie First Team member Franz Wagner, and 2017 No. 1 overall pick Markelle Fultz. Facing them on the court will be the Atlanta Hawks, known for their third consecutive playoff appearance. The team’s key players include two-time NBA All-Star Trae Young and 2022 NBA All-Star Dejounte Murray.

In Mexico, fans can catch the NBA Mexico City Game 2023 live on ESPN, Star+, TUDN, and NBA League Pass. These channels also serve to connect basketball enthusiasts worldwide as the NBA App allows for access in over 200 countries and territories through television, digital media, and social media.

In line with the NBA’s commitment to community engagement, NBA Cares community outreach initiatives and Jr. NBA youth basketball development programming will run in conjunction with the game. These events, coupled with interactive fan experiences, will create an immersive NBA experience in Mexico City.

As the week of basketball festivities concludes, Mexico City Capitanes will host the Osceola Magic on Friday, Nov. 10 as part of the NBA G League’s Showcase Cup schedule. Additional details about the 2023-24 NBA G League season will follow at a later date.
