Ultimate Power and Innovation: Intel Core i9, RTX 4090 GPU, and LA-2 AI Chip Integration

Lenovo™ announced the Lenovo Legion™ 9i (16”, 8), a 16-inch gaming laptop. Noteworthy is its liquid-cooling system, a first for a 16-inch laptop in the Legion lineup. This innovation aims to cater to gamers and creators with intensive graphic needs.

Specifications and Features:
  • The laptop has a 13th Gen Intel® Core™ i9-13980HX processor, an NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4090 Laptop GPU, and offers two RAM options: 64GB Overclocked 5600Mhz Dual Channel DDR5 or 32GB Overclocked 6400Mhz DDR5 Dual Channel.
  • The Legion Coldfront liquid-cooling system, co-developed with Cooler Master, targets the GPU VRAM for efficient cooling. An AI-driven, triple-fan air-cooling system further supports cooling, boasting 6,333 intake vents.
  • The Lenovo Legion 9i (16”, 8) weighs 2.56kg (5.64lbs) and features a unique A-cover made from forged carbon chips, resulting in a distinct pattern for each laptop.
  • The display is a Lenovo PureSight 3.2K Mini-LED 16:10 with a 165Hz variable refresh rate. Additionally, it offers up to 2TB of PCIe (Gen 4) SSD storage.
  • The Lenovo LA-2 AI chip optimizes GPU and CPU power distribution based on the in-game frame rate and manages RGB lighting in sync with on-screen visuals.
  • The laptop also features Tobii Horizon software for gearless head tracking, aiming to provide a more immersive gaming experience.
  • The Lenovo Legion 9i (16”, 8) is powered by a 99.99Whr battery. Charging options include a 330W Slim Adapter and a 140W Type-C® Power adapter. Connectivity options are provided by MediaTek’s Filogic 380 Wi-Fi card, and the laptop supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3.
  • The laptop will run on Windows 11 and comes with a 3-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. Audio is enhanced by Nahimic by SteelSeries for a 3D immersive experience.
  • Additional tools are available via the Lenovo Vantage software, including performance dashboards and fan controls. Legion Arena is bundled with the device, consolidating games from multiple platforms for easier access. Optional Lenovo Premium Care support is available for users requiring advanced technical support.

This announcement also introduced the Lenovo Legion 16” Gaming Backpack GB700 and GB400, two backpack options compatible with the Lenovo Legion 9i (16”, 8).
