An Expanded Season: 16 Episodes of Heartfelt Drama

Emmy® winner Lena Waithe’s hit drama series “The Chi” is all set for a captivating sixth season, slated to return this summer. The engrossing story follows a group of residents from the South Side of Chicago whose lives intertwine by coincidence but who are solidified by their collective need for connection and redemption.

The anticipation for the upcoming season is mounting, evidenced by an all-time high in streaming for the show’s previous season. This year, the season has been expanded to 16 episodes, offering viewers an extended, thrilling ride. The first half of the season will premiere on Paramount+, with a new episode released each week, starting Friday, August 4. The linear season premiere will follow, screening Sunday, August 6 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME.

The series is also executive produced by Justin Hillian, Jewel Coronel, Aaron Kaplan, Derek Dudley, Rick Famuyiwa, and Rishi Rajani. Hillian and Coronel will also serve as co-showrunners for the sixth season.
