To commemorate the launch of the Slipstream BBall, PUMA has produced a sun-drenched editorial, captured by acclaimed photographer Quentin De Briey, set against the timeless backdrop of West Coast street courts.

Starting June 1, 2023, the PUMA Slipstream BBall will be available for purchase at PUMA flagship stores, PUMA.com, and select retailers.

The original PUMA Slipstream, a high-top basketball shoe, was introduced in 1987 as the successor to the SKY LX. Marketed as a performance model “engineered for the serious player,” the Slipstream was a pioneer in its use of innovative materials, featuring unique embellishments like faux snakeskin, leather, and faux fur.

In 2002, PUMA reissued models like the Slipstream Snake and Slipstream Beast to cater to the Japanese market’s love for standout designs. This led to the creation of exclusive made-in-Japan versions and other collectible editions. In 2022, PUMA celebrated the silhouette’s 35th anniversary by reissuing the Slipstream.
